La Paz, Baja California Sur —The municipal president of La Paz, Milena Paola Quiroga Romero, finds herself in the eye of the storm after being photographed with Raúl Madrid Peña, brother-in-law of the leader of the “Los Avendaño” faction, Héctor Manuel Avendaño Ojeda “El Meño,” extradited on July 17 to the United States, accused of conspiracy and drug-related crimes.
On Friday morning, a set of photographs began circulating, showing the MORENA mayor accompanied by the relative of the financial operator of drug lord Ismael “El Mayo“ Zambada, former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS).
Raúl Madrid Peña “El Rauli,” according to the Government of the United States, is married to Santos Arcelia Avendaño Ojeda, sister of “El Meño.“
In the photographs, Milena Paola Quiroga Romero can be seen at a meeting, accompanied by the brother-in-law of “El Meño,” extradited to the United States after being requested by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

The Government of the United States has information that Raúl Madrid Peña “El Rauli,” brother-in-law of the leader of the “Los Avendaño“ faction, openly promotes Milena Paola Quiroga Romero as his candidate for governor of Baja California Sur on behalf of MORENA in the 2027 election.
Currently, the “Los Avendaño“ faction is under investigation by the Government of the United States after detecting yards, plots, and ranches owned by this family in Baja California Sur.
