Charlotte, N.C.- On the occasion of the Second Anniversary, the family of Shanquella Robinson, murdered on October 29, 2022, while on vacation in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico, filed a lawsuit against her friends.

The complaint filed by the law firm of the 25-year-old’s family, also involves the FBI and the United States State Department.

«We need justice for Shanquella Robinson,» said the mother of the young woman murdered two years ago, Sallamondra Robinson.

«It’s been two years and there is no reason for anyone to have been arrested yet. I need justice for my daughter,» she claimed.

The family’s attorney, Sue-Ann Robinson, said the lawsuit was being filed in Mecklenburg County Superior Court, North Carolina, on behalf of the victim’s mother, Sallamondra Robinson.

The lawsuit is not yet available in Mecklenburg County Court records.

«As we stand here today, we must face the reality that those responsible for her murder have not been held accountable,» Sue-Ann Robinson said.

«The lack of justice serves as a painful reminder of the vulnerabilities that people, especially young black women, face,» she was quoted as saying by WCNC Charlotte.

The attorney said the lawsuit accuses six people who were vacationing with Shanquella Robinson, of her death.

For the first time in a public record, the law firm is naming the six people, known publicly as the «Cabo Six,» identified as Daejhanae Jackson, Khalil Cooke, Malik Dyer, Alysse Hyatt, Nazeer Wiggins and Wenter Donovan.

The U.S. State Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation office, known by its acronym as the FBI, were sued for investigative failures and delays in justice.

The lawsuit, according to attorney Sue-Ann Robinson, seeks compensatory and punitive damages to address the «deep emotional and financial toll

«It’s not going to bring Shanquella Robinson back, but I know the FBI should have done something after two years,» said Sallamondra Robinson.

«I know there were a lot of things on Shanquella Robinson’s phone that I gave to the FBI and the FBI went through them like they were nothing. It’s like they pushed my daughter under the rug when they should have arrested these people… I’m sick of this stuff, I need justice for my daughter,» claimed the victim’s mother.

The family also requested the arrest and extradition of Daejhanae Jackson, accused of being the material author of the Shanquella Robinson crime, and who is wanted by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Baja California Sur for the crime of femicide.

As MetrópoliMx later reported on November 16, 2022, when Mexican journalist Gerardo Zuñiga discovered the murder, Shanquella Robinson died as a result of the beating inflicted by Daejhanae Jackson.

The victim’s death certificate says she died after suffering a severe spinal cord injury and a fractured neck.

In a video originally published by this media outlet, showed how Shanquella Robinson was brutally beaten by Daejhanae Jackson, when the only version that her family in the United States had was that she had died from alcohol consumption.

«They had a video that went viral, everyone saw it and there have still been no arrests since October 29, what kind of system is this?», exclaimed Sallamondra Robinson.

On the first anniversary of Shanquella Robinson’s death, the FBI’s Charlotte office responded to WCNC Charlotte: «The available evidence does not support a federal prosecution. As in all cases, we are prepared to review and examine new information related to the investigation if it becomes available.»

The United States Department of Justice sent a similar message and made no further comment on the case.

In the case of Mexico, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Baja California Sur, issued an arrest warrant against Daejhanae Jackson for the crime of femicide, on 28 November 2022.
